Damn; in the words of Earl, another good thread shot to shit. Well, no, these efforts at kicking things around are useful.

I can relate to Cliff's point--I am an early era fan, and really have to work at the post 71 stuff. I have found some shows that I enjoy, but usually not the entire show (sorry, Donna really does disturb me--it absolutely ruins a Playin or Sugar or even Greatest Story. I wish I could get over it, but I can't. Loved the Doctor's line about how it would magically be removed during our 'be'in' at the end of the month--all of Donna's wailings).

I would argue that even if you don't 'convert' (ie, early era types just can't ever appreciate 80s and 90s stuff with tired, overwt Jerry, and younger folks can't listen to Pig's toy organ), we are all still Deadheads if we want to be titled such. I don't think loyalty enters into it. We would have walked away if Jerry had been 'born again' ans started singing about JC, right? Impossible, but that is my point. We love the music we love, and they made a lot of very different music--we don't have to love it all to love them.

"--we don't have to love it all to love them."

finally a well said statement in this out of control thread.

This was out of control? Bickering over generational loyalties... seems like a BIG waste of time but not out of control. Reading more about "touchheads" and "Pacino's" and how my Daddy's guitar can kick your Daddy's guitar's ass is well... retarded. Reminds me of scientologists arguing with Jehovah's witnesses about who is in a cult.

I couldn't resist interjecting because I am trying to find a solution to uploading issues and I have to sift through this conglomeration of redundant comparisons. So if you don't mind me hijacking the post ***CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THE FTP FOLDER ISSUE?***

http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=85671

See thread for details... I cannot upload and neither can 2 other folks I know on here...

I thought it was kinda funny you calling this thread out of control. No Grammaw sex comments or gun play... tame indeed... I am just trying to get a moderator's attention because I NEED TO UPLOAD! Peace. And acutally I did leave my lexapro and vitamins on the counter this morning. Had a foo foo drink from "BIG CAFFIENE" though...
